this is all I am looking for.He wants your divine affection and your voluntary will saying, ‘yes I will, I will to the beginning of this I will run with You and only You because this is what I am looking for. you are not lost..you are here.’ His eyes are jealous and lit on fire because you move Him to the degree of hanging on a tree to make a way for you. His hands show of desire beyond what we could understand with an idea or thought. He can not fit in our minds because He expands beyond time and our reasoning. Jesus won this all for His bride because He knew you’d be His; this is your purpose and for that it was worth it all. It is so profoundly simple and yet all it needs is your affirmation to what is at present in your favor.

Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

heckyeahhchristians:

This is one of the biggest arguments used against gay marriage; Adam and eve were in a heterosexual relationship and so that means this is God’s plan for all relationships.

This seems like a pretty good argument actually, from a Christian’s point of view, that is, until we start asking a few complicating questions about the whole Adam and Eve thing. These are the questions i asked myself and this are the conclusions i came to, based on these questions.

1. Polygamy- I asked myself, If we are to follow the Adam and Eve argument (Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve), then i can safely say Polygamy is not God’s plan for the family, because, it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Eve and Eve and Eve. But then, there is a problem with that, the problem is: Solomon had many wives, Jacob Himself wasn’t Monogamous, David (the bi guy, Solomon’s dad) didn’t have just one wife, Lamech in Genesis 4:19 had two wives, and in Exodus 21:10 Moses said Polygamy is Okay, only if the man can take care of His first wife. So if Polygamy is okay after all, then that discredits the Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve argument. I honestly, don’t think Polygamy is okay, but my point is, even the Jewish believers in the past did not hold the biblical story of Adam and Eve as a definition of what marriage ought to be or ought not to be.

2. Interracial Marriage- I thought about something else too, interracial marriage. If we are to hold Adam and Eve’s relationship to be the definition of God’s plan for marriage, then we can say Interracial Marriage is not God’s plan (and this, as we all know, is wrong). Some people have argued that Adam and Eve were part of the human race, but i don’t believe that is the case because  Adam was made of out dust (probably brown, i’m guessing) and eve was formed from Adam (His rib, but still), and I’m guessing they were both brown, which means, they were both the same race. So to the question of “well you would think God would have made Adam gay to show us that gay marriage is okay?” i can easily ask the same thing “well you would think God would have made Adam Mexican and Eve Chinese, to show us that interracial marriage is okay?”, but there is a fallacy in that argument because God gave us a brain, and with that brain he expects us to think and be wise and when using wisdom and common sense, it’s not hard to see that just because Adam and Eve were the same race doesn’t mean we must marry in our own race and just because Adam and eve were in a heterosexual relationship doesn’t mean we must all be in a heterosexual relationship.

3 Age- Another big question about the Adam and Eve issue is: Does this mean guys can’t marry older women? Since we all know Adam was older than Eve, and since some people hold Adam and Eve’s relationship as a base for all relationships. Should it should be illegal for guys to marry older women? or better yet, if a guy marries an older woman, is he going to hell? This was one of the questions i asked myself and i came to the conclusion (that makes sense to me) that men who marry older women are not doing anything wrong and will not go to hell. If my conclusion is right, then it discredits the Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve argument.

4 Single Parents- I also thought about the issue of single parenting. If the Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve argument holds true, then Single parenting is wrong and immoral and should become illegal, why? because God made Adam and Eve not Eve alone or Adam Alone. After thinking about this issue too, i concluded that there is nothing wrong with being a single parent, heck (pardon the french), i’ve seen widows who take care of their family just fine without having to re-marry. What am i saying? i’m saying that if i am right and single parenting is okay, and not sinful in anyway, then it means we don’t have to hold Adam and Eve’s relationship as a base for all relationships.

this talks about the issue too. It’s pretty vague, i must admit, but not every christian is willing to accept the Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve argument is flawed, and so it is hard to find support for any argument against it.

Hopefully, i have made sense to everybody. Also, i explained my position in a respectful manner and i’d like it if that manner is reciprocated. I wouldn’t like to see people yelling at me in my ask or saying things like “you’re a false prophet! stop spreading lies! stop leading people astray!”, I’d like it if we all just stated our opinions in a civilized manner, thanks.

Dude,

I fight with flies. I can’t help it. They think they can just fly all up in faces and get away with it.
